Don and Danny are awesome members of our community! They've really established themselves with a great restaurant in Kaka'ako. The food is really good. The staff is very dog friendly and gives my dog treats when we stop in! My cheat meal order: Cali Wrap with chicken, no BBQ sauce, add hummus, add veggies. I usually get both hot and mild sauce. My bodybuilding order: shack salad with chicken, sauces on the side, and no feta. They use Greek yogurt in their white sauce, so it's good for bodybuilding!!

My boyfriend has been raving about Doner Shack since the day we met so it finally came time for me to try it. We were near the Kaka'ako location so we decided to try it there. This was my boyfriend and I's first time eating at this location. I was confused on what to order and the kind woman at the front suggested the Doner rice plate which my boyfriend agreed. The staff were really nice and helpful in picking which sauce I wanted to try. We waited about 5 minutes for our food and we were ready to go! We drove to Kakaako park to sit in the car and eat. I was so excited to eat because my boyfriend has been hyping this place up so much. I dug through my plate and I had so many hard clumps of rice which was so disappointing. I just put the clumps on the side and ate the rest. At first I was put off by the salad because I wanted just the meat and rice but the salad goes so well with everything. The lettuce adds the perfect crunch to the mix! If I didn't have the big clumps of rice in my plate, I'd definitely give this a 5 star. Maybe it was just a bad time to go since it was near the end of the day. I'll have to try the downtown location to see if that one if better (my boyfriend claims this is the case)! But I'll be back to give this place another shot!

Recently I've been grabbing lunch here almost weekly (since I work near by) and it's a great place for a filling meal. The service is fairly consistent, though it does get busy during lunch. I typically try to beat the lunch rush, and usually wait about 5-10min from the time that I order till I receive my food. My go-to is the Doner Rice Plate, which I would definitely recommend. The interior is quite small with only a few counter seats available, but they do have exterior seating available.

The only time sample on the street worked on me for a restaurant. I visited Doner Shack after a visit of the semi annually Honolulu Night Market in Kaka'ako. I was unfortunately unable to find anything that appealed to me (price point and the lines man LOL), so when I was desperately looking for something to eat, Doner Shack came to my rescue. When I just happened to walk by, they were doing sampling for their most popular doner rice plate. Very smart decision on their part especially for staying open past 9 for the markets scavengers (such as myself). The small sample was so flavorful and it quickly drew me in to this unbeknownst place. Felt like a hole in the wall yet so busy due to the sudden foot traffic. The service was straight forward, order and wait to grab your food. You can also grab your own water as they have a dispenser for it. We got the doner rice plate with lamb gyros. It was sooo flavorful. The tzatziki sauce amazing, I wish I had more. To note, I do not have mediterranean food often, so I don't have much to compare it to. However, this was exactly what I needed and very worth it at its price. If I am ever near by and craving some gyros I will not hesitate to drop by. Otherwise, I personally probably wouldn't commute there out of my way?

I found this place last week and I ended up going 4 times last week HAHAHA The first time the guy taking my order was on the phone and he actually put the wrong thing in. I ordered the Cali doner wrap but he just gave me the normal doner wrap. I was already home when I noticed and I was starving so I just ate it I love Mediterranean food and the food here is so good! My go to is the doner pita plate or the doner rice plate. I love gotten the chicken, the lamb, and the mix and they're all solid. I like just the chicken alone but sometimes it's super salty. The yogurt garlic sauce is SOOOOO GOOD The inside is bare bones but they are super quick and efficient. I usually grab it and eat in the brewery or just anywhere in the SALT complex. Parking is free in the structure for one hour. Definitely recommend this place if you're craving good Mediterranean food

Located by Salts of Kakaako, they have plates, wraps with mean choice of lamb, chick, mixed lamb and chicken and Falafel ( they call it meat substitute) never try it so I have no idea what that is. The rice plate and wrap is around $15 each, reasonable cost for eating out for lunch now a day. The lamb and chicken we tried was tasty. The rice plate has some salad in the plate. So you are not just eating all rice and meat. They have a pretty simple menu. They do have a few seats inside as well as tables outside, just a few minutes from where we live. We are planning to come back visit again because of the fair price and yummy food.

I always walk past this place at Salt and it smells so good. I finally decided to try it and so glad I did! Both my husband and I got the rice plates with lamb. I called ahead and picked it up once I walked in. The service was quick and friendly. The place is small so I just took it to go. It was so delicious! They put like a yogurt sauce on top but also asked if I wanted spicy or mild sauce to go with it, and I got both. The rice and meat and sauce all go so well together and it's just savory delicious meal. It also came with a salad on the side which I really enjoyed as well. I will come here again. I want to try more things but I really loved the rice plate so we'll see.

Big bites * Few countertop seats + about 5 outside tables. Went for the Doner Wrap instead of my usual plate order. Glad I did bc my lunch turned out to be a massive burrito! A happy surprise for this gloomy Monday. * Warning - the spicy sauce is a hott kick! Haven't done take out here since they relocated from Fort Street Mall, but service at this Kakaako location seems much faster. cheers!
